Dr. Renee Hostetler
Dr. Renee graduated from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. For 7 years prior to receiving her veterinary degree she worked as a veterinary technician for a small animal emergency clinic and a small animal hospital in the twin cities. Dr. Renee knew she wanted to become a veterinarian since she was in kindergarten and feels very blessed she followed her dream. She enjoys all aspects of the profession but especially enjoys the long lasting relationships that are created when helping a family care for their pet(s). When she is not working she enjoys fishing, gardening and spending time with her husband and son.
Our Veterinary Technicians
We strive in providing you the best medical care for your pet and this starts by having a well trained veterinary team. While some hospitals hire staff with no formal training and rely solely on on the job training, we only hire veterinary technicians (aka pet nurses) that have graduated from an accredited 2-year veterinary technology program. After graduation the technicians can take an additional national certification examination to become certified.
So why wouldn't you want the best care for your pets and this means having formally trained and educated veterinary technicians caring your pets.
Jennifer, CVT
Jen graduated from Argosy University with an Applied Science degree in Veterinary Technology in 2010. She also took and passed the national certification exam following graduation. Prior to joining Brookdale Animal Hospital in 2013, Jen was working in the veterinary field at both large and small animal practices, as well as a race horse breeding barn. Jen has been with Brookdale Animal Hospital for over 11 years. Her passion and knowledge of the veterinary field and keeping pets healthy comes through in every pet interaction. You will often hear her sing to pets to help keep them calm.
Outside of the hospital, Jen enjoys spending time with her husband, Marques, and daughter, Lydia. She enjoys reading, cooking and swimming. Jen and Marques are expecting a little boy in the fall of 2024. At this time, there are no fur babies in their home as their cat, Tucker, left behind some pretty big shoes to fill.
Amanda, CVT
Amanda graduated from the Mn School of Business and received her Associated Degree in Applied Science and Veterinary Technology in 2013. Following graduation she took and passed the national certification exam and has maintained her national certification since graduation. Prior to working at Brookdale Animal Hospital, she worked at another small animal hospital in the twin cities. She joined Brookdale Animal Hospital in 2016. Her favorite area of veterinary medicine is general surgery and anesthesia. She is passionate about making sure that all cats and dogs receive the best level of care while under general anesthesia and ensuring a smooth recovery so the healing process can begin.
Brittany, VT
Brittany graduated from the Mn School of Business and received her Associates Degree in Applied Science and Veterinary Technology in 2013. She had worked at a cat only clinic in the twin cities for several years where she gained valuable experience with fear free handling and reading cat behavior. Brittany joined Brookdale Animal Hospital in 2017 and is currently our Lead Veterinary Technician. She loves dentistry, educating clients on the importance of basic wellness care and really enjoys developing a relationship with our clients and their pets. Her animal family consists of 3 dogs and a cat. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends and traveling with her fiancé.
Our Receptionists/Veterinary Assistants
Our receptionists and veterinary assistants are all pet lovers. They understand the importance of working with you to keep your pet happy and healthy.
Marques
Marques has been in the customer service field for over 20 years. He joined Brookdale Animal Hospital in the spring of 2023 and is our Customer Service Representative. Prior to joining the team, Marques worked in various customer service roles throughout the Twin Cities. He enjoys client and pet interactions while assisting with getting the pets the care they need.
Outside of the hospital, Marques enjoys spending time with his wife, Jen, and daughter, Lydia. Marques and Jen are expecting a little boy in the fall of 2024. Marques is an passionate poker player and can be found at various events within the free poker network around the Twin Cities.
